On a remote hillside sits a cottage that Eve’s mother, Mary, believes is magical. Mary's happiest times were spent there as a child, and she believes that if she can get Eve there, this mystical home will help her daughter rediscover the creative and joyous young woman she used to be.

Eve left that young woman behind years ago and instead works as a brand manager in a big city, building the dreams of others. Just as Eve finally agrees to take time off, Mary dies suddenly and Eve is left to discover the magic on her own.

Danni owns the enchanted property and lives in a cottage. She seems to just "know" things about Eve, which makes Eve uneasy. But maintenance problems - faulty electricity, dripping faucets, unregulated water heater - require Danni's attention, forcing their paths to cross. The women soon discover their mothers were friends, and Eve finds herself drawn to Danni.

Over dinner, Danni shares a secret - she is a witch, like her mother and her mother before her. Always pragmatic, that odd admission sends up warning bells for Eve, but her best friend, Penny, pushes Eve to take a chance and romance blossoms. But a supernatural secret threatens to destroy their relationship.

A bullied girl, a spell gone wrong and a tragic death tumble into the present and a vengeful neighbor is keen on taking everything that Danni holds dear. As Danni and Eve's relationship begins to implode, both women face their own decision - choose the safety in an old way of life or risk the new and unknown in order to thrive together.
